These purple globs have been growing for a while now . They started off small but now I have a baseball sized colony on top of the sump pump along with some growing on the drain pipe out of the water . Also have them on the return line growing out of the tank . So I don't think they are sponges...

It was sold to me as a tracyphyllia a month or so ago but I now have my doubts. Iive aquarias divers den had a meat coral that looked just like it. I also read a post today by Mr x saying they do not have long sweepers but this one does . So is it a brain or a meat coral thanks .

Long story short picked up a open brain coral but didn't notice it had two spots of skeleton showing. Fast forward a few weeks and I see either a polyp or majano on the skeleton. I have my.aipistasia x ready but I'm not sure how to do it without harming the coral. Anyone have an idea? Thanks

So is it necessary? The only fish in my tank is an angler and he gets target fed once a week so there is no chance of this coral grabbing any bits of food. So what do the experts think? Thanks
