Just found this little guy while feeding my fish - any idea what it is? Is it harmful? How did it get in there?! :-/

Argh sorry brain fried from work - I meant nitrate! It's a 60L, has been fully cycled (fishless) since May, well planted and currently has 3 guppies and 4 otos... And about 5 RCS.

I'm having issues with my guppies. Initially I had girls and boys in the same tank (recipe for disaster, right?!) and separated them after a month. All my girls (apart from my albino one) were pregnant and only one has had a successful birth, the other four have all died whilst still heavily...

This is what I do with my 3yr old too, he loves getting involved and always asks before he does anything (feeding/cleaning). He helps me pick out fish too (I'll show him two species that will work in our tank rather than free reign!). Although the day he saw a Silver Arowana was a tricky one!

Bit of an update on KitKat - seems the QT tank was just what he needed. I raised the temp and added and aquarium salt to it and he is looking miles better, the injury (which I think it mist have been) looks like it has completely healed. I will keep him in QT for a bit longer just to make sure...

It is (or rather was) an aquarium/mp3 player combo sold in Australia with bettas. It contained a massive 0.2G of water. Thankfully it was eventually banned, but can you imagine what that must have been like for the fishes? :(

Nope. Apparently it's "not needed" for a betta, says the store. It might be nice as a vase for flowers, about all it's good for! At least it's better than the iPond...

Saw this tank for sale and instantly loved it for it's originality, design and "the perfect size for a betta" (which I'm considering getting a tank for). It looked perfect until I saw the size... 2.5L (0.5G). How is that even on sale?!

I have three caves, java moss, maybe 20- 25 other plants so there's quite a bit of cover. Fuego has always been laid back, Snowball was bullied quite badly by Domino (boy) but now she's the one who is bullying Fuego!

I just noticed my pearl danio on the floor of the tank hidden in the java moss. Then she went and did a circuit of the tank and is now completely invisible inside the moss. Is she ok? Levels are all good (ammo 0, nitrite 0, nitrates between 5 and 10), can't think of anything else that might be...
