    Rare gobys..

Please make sure you stay away from Bathygobius fuscus (Common Frill-Fin). I am sure he is the cause of 4 deaths in my tank (flame angel after 2 weeks, Engi Goby, shrimp and Bi-Color Blenny after 10 days).

    Goby vs Cleaner Shrimp

Sorry, I have been gone for a bit. My shrimp was a cleaner and the goby is a 4 inch long Bathygobius fuscus (frill fin). I am unclear if the shrimp was actually dead before hand though. Regardless of what happened he is a very peaceful fish! Gets along with the family including my bi-colored...

Well I have started my journey into the world of 3d backgrounds. I am going with a simple route I picked up from another forum. I will take some photos once I find my camera. The products used are as follows: 1 can of Waterfall/Pond foam (black) $17.50 from HD 1 48x36 eggcrate $12.95 from HD 1...

This past Saturday we were camping at the beach when my daughter pointed this out to me. I like the way it looks but have no clue what it is..and before anybody asks, no I did not bring that home.

    Please help my blenny

I've learned to value your opinion, and thank you very much. His usual behavior and your comment have boosted the confidence level!

    Please help my blenny

This is my Bicolor Blenny, sometime today these white markings appeared. They cover a good portion of his face and small dots run laterally down his sides. Is this normal or is something wrong? Also, no other fish in the DT show any type of white spots on them.

    Hopefully a used 155g

I would love to have a 155. My wife trolls CL like I do this place.Still praying they have the tank! In the post the guy said 72x20x28. So I am assuming it's right around 155. It will be one heck of a long project build because we have decided to build the stand, sump, canister filter...

    Hopefully a used 155g

Alright, found a 155g on Craig's List for a unbelievably cheap 50 bucks. Says minor water stains on it. No accessories period!. This will be an entirely DIY project including the stand, canister filter, sump and skimmer. Hopefully I will hear back from the guy tomorrow. Cross your fingers and...

    Goby question

We have a 55g tank, more than likely we will only be getting one of the fish. Thanks for the advice, will have to make sure they feed them some prepared food.

    Goby question

My LFS is holding a Yellow Head Sleeper and a Tiger Watchman Goby for me. I already have a Split Fin Goby in my tank. Will there be any issues between these 3 fish?

    Goby vs Cleaner Shrimp

Went out and bought a new cleaner shrimp today.. after acclimation he lasted 2 hours in the tank. Went to feed the community a little bit more and noticed the shrimps antenna sticking from my goby's mouth..a little more than ticked off!

    Clowns found some hosts

I would personally introduce them at the same time. If it all possible try and get the new fish a little bigger than you currently have. Clowns are hermaphrodites and the larger one will have a greater chance of turning into a female (they are the larger and more aggressive of the species). The...

    Clowns found some hosts

Hosting is when (usually) an anemone allows the fish to live on it like a home. As stated in the thread though, clown fish are not super picky and will host almost anything!

    Clowns found some hosts

Mine kind of chill out and do the whole filter feeding thing. Here soon we're going to replace the clown we lost and put in a couple pots for them to host.

    New 55g build

Right now just the one. So we'll take the advice and only get one more. I think we will get one that is slightly bigger if we can find it. Thank you all for the advice!

    New 55g build

Well yesterday was a sad day for my Clown family. Was doing my nightly head count and noticed that Daphene was not with her friend. After searching for about 10 minutes we found her dead behind some rocks. Poor Shaggy looks lost and lonely. I think I need to get him a new friend. Anything wrong...

    Clowns found some hosts

I feel super bad because the Feather Dusters are stressed out (obviously) but my Clowns are hosting two of them. I guess I need to speed up my search for a bubble tip

    Any clue?

Thank you Tony for that very accurate information! He is 100% a Dusky Frill Goby and an amazing addition to my tank

    What new fish to get?

We would love to have any of them! Especially the anthias. I have yet to find a goby or a reef safe wrasse here on the island, I got 2 weeks to search though!

    What new fish to get?

So in my 55g I have a very happy, active and friendly Flame Angel, 2 Percula Clowns, some sort of Blenny, 2 Halloween Hermits and 2 Red Banded Hermits. I would like to add one or two more fish (if that wouldn't overstock my tank) but I don't know what to get. Any suggestions?
