    Stocking a 20 gal tank

I have a 20 gallon tank with 8 GloFish that are not fully mature yet, the biggest one is a tiny bit over an inch. I would really like to add a few celestial pearl danios in there as well. I was thinking 3 or 4. Will that number be enough to keep the celestial pearls happy and will it over stock...

    fat fish?

yeah, I tried to get shots of him/her...like I said, probably my most active fish, I can't get it to hold still long enough for a shot! And if I open the top, they all figure it is feeding time and swim like crazy.

    fat fish?

I actually have no idea what the gender of the fish are...they are essentially zebra danios with an extra gene or two. But I believe the company that holds the patent and breeds/sells them sterilizes the ones they sell. They are also pretty young (or just really small). So I don't think the fish...

    fat fish?

I have a 20 gal tank with 6 glofish, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 20ppm, pH 7.4. These are all pretty young fish, all under 1 inch, and the tank is pretty new. One of the fish looks like he has a bit of a swollen belly, but is very active (in fact seems a bit of an aquarium bully) and eats...

    sick danio (glofish) help!

old fashioned way is the whole test tubes and chemical reagents that cause pretty colour changes and you read the chart. And I'm pretty sure it isn't the water, everything came back normal and the rest of the fish seem fine and are swimming around the tank quite happy. I have the sick one...

    sick danio (glofish) help!

nope, testing the old fashioned way. Ammonia came back zero, nitrite came back zero, nitrate was 7ppm, pH was 7.2. I didn't buy them from a LFS, I bought them online from Live Aquaria (Drs Foster and Smith). They were all bought at the same time and are the only fish in the tank.

    sick danio (glofish) help!

tank was cycled for four weeks prior to fishies being put in. Water readings all came back fine. And the other fish are acting quite happy.

    sick danio (glofish) help!

I have a newly established 20gal tank with 7 glofish. All of them seem healthy, eat well, swim around quite a bit, and dart all around the tank. All except one. I put these guys in the tank Sunday night and until yesterday all of them seemed fine. Yesterday I noticed that one of them seemed a...

    number of danios

Yeah, the reason I went with the food method is because I don't have a source for used bio media. I pretty much pulverized the flakes into nothingness then shook it all up in a cup of water from the tank and liquified it. I'm hoping that will prevent molds and fungi. Getting my hands on pure...

    number of danios

Thanks all! I have actually just started up my tank today for cycling and am planning on adding fishies at the end of the month. I'm using the flake fish food method for cycling since I don't have any aquarium buddies to give me some old bio media.

    number of danios

Hi. So I'm pretty new to the whole fish thing, we had a tank as a kid that I was not responsible for and I've kept bettas on occasion, and I want to make sure my fishies stay alive and well. I want to keep glofish (zebra danios with the GFP gene) and maybe a couple of the celestial pearl danios...

    superglue okay?

One of my aquarium decor pieces broke and I would like to fix it since I rather like it and it is one that kinda came out of my childhood. Can I superglue it (I have locktite gel) and will it be okay for my fishies? I will be keeping danios. I know reefers use superglue a lot but wanted to make...
