    Today I don't a coral rx dip on my zoas? Cause I felt some were dying for no good reason. Afterwards I found a lot of pest in the water. How do I figure out of they were good or bad. They look look copepods or amphipods. And one liked like a tiny tiny red star fish.

    Ok so the only thin that drops rapidly in my tank is the alk. Other than that everything else will last the week for my water change. So should I be ok with growth. I use Red Sea pro salt.

    I get phos and mag tested in my local fish shop. And my mag is always at 1250-1300 never below. Don't know why. And only recently my calcium had dropped to 380. I have never seen that drop ever. And potassium never changes ever.

    Redsea reef pro. And it drops from 12 to 7 within a week. It's crazy.

    I have calcium which is at 380. And potassium I also have which is spot on. And my magnesium has never dropped in my tank ever. Just alk.

    Yeah I have the Red Sea master test kit. But I reckon I do have a quiet a low nutrient tank. I wonder if that's why my softies are taking a beating lately. Thanks for the info

    But are nutrient not other things than just nitrates and phosphates? Could it not be a high level of zooplankton or phytoplankton in the water or high levels of other bacteria?

    I change about ten per cent a week water on top of the alk dosing. But that's about it really. Nothing too dramatic.

    I rarely have to remove any algae probably once a month if needed.

    That brown green colour just looks like high phosphates to me. Although the sand surrounding that looks pinkish red but I think that's your like. Why not get you phosphates tested And if there is any get some rowa-phos

    Cyano is red and is easily sucked up with water change tubing. While algae not so easy. It also smells strong when out of the water. I lowered the timing on my lights and it removed all algae for me.

    I dose alk because within a week it drops from 11-7 it's outrageous. And I couldn't do a 25% wc a week max I can do is 10 just too expensive.

    And how do you keep it low nutrient. Any additives or just water changes. I have a lot of experience with everything except sps.
