Pistol shrimp is really cool, u can buy it pair up w/ a goby or u can do it by ur own, the shrimp makes caves n is really cool how they do it.

I don't use fertilizers for my discus planted tank, is not mandatory to use them, do ur water changes weekly, check ur ph level, if ur ph level is lower than 6.4 use a little of crushed coral the will help n from there u shouldn't have any trouble in water levels.

A 55 or 75 g tank will be best for them if u want to keep more African Cichlids.

Ur ph has to be about 7 or neutral, this is important because if u ph is low is really hard for bacteria to grow

They really are, after I'm done w/ getting all my discus and some more plants, I will be moving to set up a SW tank (nano size).

My 2 discus, golden marlboro checkerboard and blue wild discus, is planted w/ amazon swords, melon swords, pixie anubias, lm looking to get more kinds of sword, but at the same time I'm looking for some nice discus.
