Sorry guys, false alarm. Things around the house (slim pickin's in the bank, sick cat) are going to keep me from making it down to the aquarium this weekend :( I was so looking forward to posting some firsthand pics of the great white for everybody. Hopefully, things will continue to go well...

I'm pretty sure it will dissipate over time. When setting up my tank, the driftwood turned the water a tea-ish color. Its now about three months later, and my water is clear.

Buh... school :evil: I hated school. I graduated High School in '95, and besides a three month course in audio engineering, I've done everything i could to avoid going back. But I've recently figured out that if I don't study something, I'll be stuck in this rut some would call a job...

Sorry for your loss, shawmutt. Take comfort in knowing you were able to visit with him before he passed. My Grandfather passed away a few years ago, and for reasons I can't even remember I didn't go visit him in the hospital. I'll be kicking myself for that for years. Have a safe trip....

My Rummynoses are always a little less bright when I first turn on the light in the a.m. Not too long after though, they are all colored up, bright and perty as ever.

In the past couple weeks, my tank has developed some spots of algae (right in front) in a sort of blast pattern from the outflow from my filter. My five otos hang around on the stuff as if to say, "we're trying!", but I've never seen any decline. So I finally decide to intervene, and buy...

I don't even have sound on my 'puter here at work, and I still found it amusing!

I haven't heard about taking decorations out of a cycling tank. Although, if you are able to take decorations from an established tank and place them in your cycling tank, the bacteria present on the decoration will help give the new tank a kick-start.
