    Pregnant Mollie

There was no need to worry in the end. She had about 20 very very small black fry last night! J

    Pregnant Mollie

I will definitely get some floating plants in there. She is a normal black Molly and she has had fry before but I missed them and only one survived. I don't want the same thing to happen again. I will keep her in there until the week is up and then put her back in the main tank. She will...

    Pregnant Mollie

Have now had my Mollie, Nigela, in a breeding tank for 3 days now. She looks like she is going to pop so it should be any day now. If however, she does not give birth how long should I leave her in the little tank. Is it putting stress on her or will she be ok as long as the breeding tank she is...

Cheers, I would love some shrimp too but if I put a couple of dwarf puffers in, the shrimps may end up being lunch! You will have to get some pics up of your nano when its up and running. J

    Am I cycled?

Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as difficult I'm just trying to learn as much as I can about this awesome hobby! Thank you for you patience. J

    Am I cycled?

If there is nothing in the tank to produce ammonia in the water in the first place, what would the bacteria be turning into the nitrate at the end of the nitrogen cycle. Surely everything should read zero?

    Am I cycled?

    Why should there be nitrates?

    Am I cycled?

I think it is safe to say that your tank has cycled. Your levels are obviously ok at the moment. I personally would go ahead and add a couple of fish at the end of the second week of cycling. I am also quite new to the hobby but have setup two tanks in this way and have had no problems. Once you...

    10G Dirt (NPT) "Mezza Luna"

Looks really nice. Very subtle and well thought out. I also like the fish types you have put in as the colours add to the overall feel of the tank. J

    Dwarf Puffers?

I am starting a new tank in the kitchen and it is cycling as we speak. It is a 48l fishbox. It has a far better filter than it was sold with do the water quality shouldn't be an issue. Would this be a suitable tank for some dwarf puffers or do they need something larger. Any help on this would...

    peas for my goldfish

I had this problem. The best way is to put a little bit of thawed pea on a cocktail stick and literally feed it to your fish. This worked with my sick Mollie and the fibre in the pea sorted him right out. J

    125l Community Tank

This is my first ever attempt at any kind of fish keeping. Bought my whole setup for £60 second hand but upgraded the filter to an Ehiem Eco Pro as the one that was sold was just not good enough. My tank has now been running for 10 weeks and have gradually stocked it with only one casualty. I...
