is that so it doesn't change the ph? if it is would i just be able to test it in a container of water instead of buying a test kit? because i do have a ph test kit but not carbonate hardness.

i have ugfs on 2 of my tanks and i hate them, mostly because about every six months it breaks down for some reason and you have to fullt take apart the tank and clean everything.

I have a female betta with a blue gourami and they are fine, i think i might depend on the individual fish though **edit**wrong spelling

blackworms are also good for carnivourus bottom feeders

i tried adding guppies to my tank with serpae tetras in it, it lasted less than 10 seconds. I'd be careful what you put in with serpaes they are nippy lil buggers

i would say that they'd be okay as long as the goldy is small because goldies will eat anything that fits in their mouth

that is a nice picture, it is green on my screen too. is it possible that your light is making it green, because i have heard that some lights can give out green light which will show up on a camera

i always use polystyrene foam, you can usually buy it where you buy your tank

another thing that you could do is add a female betta to your tank, they are great for keeping livebearer populations down.

i feed my bn pleco with broccoli stems too, it makes him grow really fast

at the moment i have a 15gal and a 4gal in my bedroom

the only other option is to put a betta in a breeding trap in another tank and i really don't want to do that so i won't get one, i have a female anyway so it's not like i don't have one at all

you should vac the gravel every 1-2 weeks, other than useing the distilled water everythink you have done is fine. you will need to check the ammonia, nitrites and nitrates fairly often while the tank is cycling, if you need more info on cycling look in the articles section.

i havn't bought the betta yet so there is only a comet in there, it is 2-3 inches long and i am getting rid of it just before i get the betta

or the other option is to somehow to get the water to flow through it from my 39gal because there is a bench right abouve the 39gal where i could put it, do you guys have any ideas how i could do this if it is possible????
