Pregnant Otto? I'm not so sure...

Oh no... The otto isn't acting abnormally...it's constantly grazing, and pooping... It does kind of look constipated, but I did notice in the picture that there are a few light yellow spots on its abdomen. I've never had to deal with infections/parasites/other ailments. I'll have to look at...

Months ago I posted that I was excited to have a pregnant otto. Now, I'm not so sure that it was ever pregnant, just overweight. What does it look like to you? Thanks in advance!

    Tank Complete!

Congrats on your new tank, but be careful. Your tank seems to be overstocked, so keep close watch on your parameters . I would agree that it is a good idea to move some fish to your 10 gallon when it is cycled. It seems like it is a beautiful community. Can you post pictures?

    Does anyone else feel guilty?

I inherited a 37gal tank that included a rubber lip pleco. Because he had already outgrown the tank, I donated him to a lfs and they were happy to take him. If you know that you're giving up your fish in their best interest (the clown loaches especially), then you shouldn't feel guilty. Enjoy...

    My 37 Gallon Tank!

Wow, thank you for the compliments! My aquariums make me so happy. Um, jinmon, they seem to be getting along just fine. They pretty much ignore each other. My only complaint about my killifish is that they're total hogs. They will eat anything and everything...trying to feed my bottom dwellers...

    Gravel vs. Sand

Hello all, I just inherited a 37 gal aquarium. I have been using only gravel in my aquariums for the past decade, and was wondering what the pros and cons to using sand were? Should I not use sand if I'm only using fake plants? Thank you!

    Killifish?

I got mine from PetsMart I bought three golden killifish from PetsMart in St. Louis, MO. I love them, however, they do eat anything...including one of my african dwarf frogs. Also, it is nearly impossible to give my bottom dwellers sinking pellets...the killifish will gobble them up. They are...

    Just having some fishy fun…

Welcome!! I too have MTS, it's great, isn't it?? I often find myself searching for more and more lfs, I go there when I'm on break at school or work, or after school and work, pretty much all of the time. And I can't help but buy something every time. Don't worry, though. Taking care of fish is...

    First Fry!

Almost two months ago I had my first sucessful batch of platy fry. There were about 27 total that grew large enough to really see, but only 9 have survived into near-adulthood. They're so cute! Some are all black and others are black and white. I'm so excited!

    African Dwarf Frogs

I've never had african dwarf frogs before, and I'm curious about their behavior. My frogs are constantly bumping into the gravel as they propel downwards...I'm worried that they might injure themselves? Is this normal behavior? Thanks!

Waiting is a pain...the Fishless Cycle?

Hello again! I'm starting a new tank (20 gal hex) and I'm interested in the fishless cycle. I just set up the tank yesterday, and I added CYCLE to the water to help the water mature. What can I do as far as the fishless cycle? I would hate to put in fish with the chance that they would die...
