My peppermint shrimp is a demon! Lol watched him tear two mushrooms to shreads. Caught my clown goby perched on a rock and before i could get to him he killed it. Then he just snatched my firefish out from a rock. Luckily hes fast enough to break free.

So im puttin together a 75 planted turtle tank. The halides are from an old reef set up. The halides put off some heat. Good for the turtle. But is 300w of halides too much for the turtle and plants? They are supposed to replicate the sun after all...

Im afraid he will burn himself on the heater. Im acclimating him to warmer water. His current water was about 65*... im at 68. Can i slip a piece of PVC around the heater? I have some 1 3/4" that would slide right around the heater. Will it melt pvc?

What if i turned my 75 into a turtle haven? Tanks drilled so i could run lower water levels. Leaving about 4" from water to rim. Then could i have fish?

Hes maybe 4-5" i am in the us. With my biocube and my 75 build im pretty much out of room. Lol a friend has a 40 breeder i may pick up. Then id be forced to use pond foam and make its dry area. Then do a lagoon for it with an internal filter... hmmmmm the ideas are flowing.

How old is the tank? General rule is one lb per gal. You can add base rock for the rest
