    Algae Phases

That's weird. Do you use a lot of water through it. Mine lasted me a year before the ppm went above 0.01 on the output. Then I changed it. I use probably 15 to 20 gallons a week from it. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Algae Phases

Did u buy it new or used. Filters should last longer than that. Depending on how much water you use through it. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    LRS reef frenzy

How much do u feed. I have a 125 3 lyretail anthias 3-4ins. 3 clowns 3 in and smaller. Do you rinse the food? And could the smaller foods like the oyster eggs be causing detritus bc nothing is eating it? Sent from my SCH-I605 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Algae Phases

    LRS reef frenzy

It contains multiple different types of foods feeding everything in your tank corals and fish wise. If the fish or the corals don't eat the smaller stuff can that become detritus. Because I'm have a problem with it. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Fish-in Cycle CUC?

But doing wc in your tank is going to take longer to cycle. Maybe take the fish to a friend or to the local fish store. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

using prime for new aquarium set up

They probably gave you some sort of damsel fish which is probably aggressive. That tends to be what most people start with. The con is they will harass everything you put in your tank. More times than not. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Algae Phases

I would say it would be OK don't let it the Nitrates get high. Or maybe use Prime to pull the toxins out of the water for the time being. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Fish-in Cycle CUC?

Also a note blue legs will kill larger snails for there shells as they grow so have a few shells available for the wouldn't be a bad idea. I wish I could do away with them but they are very effective. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Fish-in Cycle CUC?

After the ammonia and Nitrites are zero and your Nitrates are spiked then you will want to start bringing that down through water weekly changes. After you have gotten the Nitrates down pretty close to zero then you are ready for your inverts. I'm not exactly sure in amounts you would need but...

    Fish-in Cycle CUC?

Don't get a clean up crew they will have a rough time through the cycle. Most inverts can handle high levels of nitrates. If I were you grab some Prime at the lfs and go by the directions so the ammonia spike won't kill him. It's going to be hard on you because you don't want to do water changes...

using prime for new aquarium set up

By the add the prime if you have fish in there it won't do anything to your cycle. This is why it is hard to do a cycle with fish because ammonia is toxic to fish and you want to get the toxic water out through water changes. If you do them do very small ones. You may even want to take the fish...

using prime for new aquarium set up

Prime I've used before it takes a lot of the toxins out of the water or changes them to something else not as toxic. It's good to keep on had especially if your tank for some reason had a high spike in something very toxic. But while your tank is cycling you don't need to do water changes for...
