Help!!! Need to remove a fish.

Laughing here but not at youre situation. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. What is funny? Some things are easier said than done. I had tried to catch 2 Blue Devils for several weeks (little bullies) I had to resort to the removing of some LR before I could catch them. Just hang in there and...

    Need to lower CA

Did a water test today and found that my CA is @ 800, ALK 7.5, PH 8.1 - 8.3, NH3 0, Ites 0. I use Oceanic salt. I dont have any hard corals but do have 2 medium sized polyps and 1 small one. I have over 90 lbs of LR in a 75 gal tank. I guess the real question here is... how to lower CA and raise...

    stupid algae

If you are using tap water for your top offs and water changes...Stop. Start using RO/DI water. A cleanup crew is a good idea. Also, if your not using a skimmer you might invest in one. More info on your tank would be helpful :D

Had the same problem. I added mine to the main tank after 3 days. As Scuba-Steve said they are not prone to Ick. they have no scales and are slimy yet beautiful critters. I have had him in my main tank over a month and everything looks good. They are a trip to watch. Good luck

    Crushed Coral

Wow...after viewing these saltwater pic's, I am beginning to wonder if I am the only one who uses a Crushed Coral sub. If I decided to change my sub what would you recommend or should I even consider changing? If so what are the pros and cons? I am sure this has been asked many times but i...

    Fuge Question

Ok here goes. I have just recently setup a 10 gal fuge. I added the sand and now its totally cleared up and i am ready to plumb it. Just today I aquired about 10 lbs of LR rubble ranging in size from fine to crushed coral size all the way up to some pretty good sized chunks. I put it in my 20...

    POD question

Try looking under copepods. Youll find find it. There are a lot of links to the places that sell theses little critters. They sell microalgea as well. Ebay is my Home Depot, I could wander around in there for hours. :) Steve posted this link. Check it out. http://ipsf.com/

    POD question

In regards to your Pod's... I started a fuge and it helps a lot! My LFS sold me 15 lbs of rubble from his LR tank. My mandarine seems to be doing much better with a more abundant supply. I agree with Steve, you may have a better Pod population that you think. Go to Ebay and see whats out there...

Newbie Questions - Please help and bear with me

Gesh, I have a Knop Excalibur Protien Skimmer that leaked as well. I am not quite sure as to how your Skimmer is setup, however mine has an Oring that makes the seal where the collection cup slides into the riser. What I did was took a rubber band that came off of the bags from the LFS and put...

Newbie Questions - Please help and bear with me

Uncured rock would have more die off than Cured rock therefore creating more ammonia and giving the bacteria more to consume and increase the number of ammonia eating bacteria. This would speed up the curing process. After the cycling period you will have cured your own rock. Of course this is...

Ok...Lot's of Brown still in Tank. Confused now from LFS

I feel your Pain. Once I started using RO water in my water changes this stuff went away very quickly. I had also added 4 large turbo snails and 6 (small) hermits to my 75 Gal. tank. They LOVE Diatoms. I am not an expert but it worked for me. Good luck! :D
