That's to what I was referring to. Bettas don't only live in rice patties they also live in small ponds and love logs because it has plenty of bugs full of protein and protection from large fish.

What different effects do freeze dried have over frozen? I have a betta and have been feeding him freeze dried bloodworms and I have been hearing a lot about getting frozen. No lfs has frozen around me so should I spend an extra dollar to buy frozen online or continue with freeze dried. Thanks!

It could just be bad luck. Mollies in general are very inbred especially the black ones. Did you have aquarium salt in your tank? Although its by no means required it certainly helps with mollies if your cycling or they are in stress. Mollies are very sensitive to ammonia and nitrites and salt...

I have 3 mollies in a 10 gallon and its A LOT of work. I have to clean the tank almost daily because of the bioload. A big thing I have found with mollies is that they can't seem to handle even moderate spikes of nitrite and ammonia. If they are stressed it could definitely have killed them.
