I'm wanting to add a couple of platys or guppies to an established aqaurium with 1 dwarf frog, 3 tetras a pleco and golden gourami. The tank is approx 50 litres and has been established for approx 6 months. Am i likely to upset the balance after this length of time and is everyone going to get on?

The pleco is a big boy alright, hes about 5" so it could be him then. He's just one of those brown plecos you get from a pet shop...

2 months ago, 2 new young dwarf frogs vanished from my previously frog proof tank. Now 2 of my fully grown tetras have vanished. The only two suspects are a golden gourami and a pleco... who dunnit?

i brought a new golden gourami home 3 days ago. it seems to spend all its time hiding and i never see it! after asking the pet shop owner, he advised me that these fish are ok alone but 'm sure hes lonely. Is this the csse or is he just shy?

50 litres is actually the equivalent to 13 gallons. the above fish have been living happily for the last year in a tank half this size (pleco, 2 frogs, 6 neons). The pleco has reached about 4". Think i might leave the 2 platys... frogs are cooler!

I used to have a 20 litre tank with 2 dwarf frogs, 6 neons and a pleco. I've now moved these to a 50 litre tank but minus 1 frog and 1 neon (r.i.p). Is it safe for me to have the following: 4 frogs 1 pleco 5 neons 2 platys? I think i'm pushing it a bit....

I'm in exactly the same position, what i've bought is a chemical additive that rapidly cycles and matures a tank. Gonna try it out tonight...

ok one of the tetras has just keeled over and died. back in the original tank they go! damn better get some advice from the pet shop tommorrow.

thanks, i've got the feeling i might have added that after the oil appeared to try and clear it. well it seems to have cleared up after a quick water change and 've introduced my tetras which are currently hiding under a plant looking petrified!
