Hi took the plunge and bought some coral today. The lfs had no idea what they were or what we needed to do to maintain them. Took some snaps. They are all closed up an I will take some more when they open. But can anyone identify from these and inform how to care for them. I am still a total noob.

Hi everyone Just a quick one, all the dull brown ash has all gone from my sand and rock but in its place now is this red stuff. Spreading fast on rock and sand just like the brown stuff.

Any idea what this red sack is coming from my Goby??? It has just appeared and now she/he is hiding in his hole and won't come out like usual. Any help appreciated. Thanks Rob.

I all, it's been a while since I posted. That's because I have been struggling with Nitrates. Can't get them to drop. I have done numerous water changes, purchased products, removed my bio balls and tried different test kits but nothing. But now they seem to be falling it may have been 2 months...

This little fish has loads of character. Got him yesterday as he was on offer but forgot to ask what he was.

There was a strange white slime coming out of my live rock. From a small hole that looks like a mini volcano. When we tried to remove the puss the rock literally fell to pieces. There was a rancid smell and more puss and then some orange/pink looking thing. Hope the pictures help. Any idea's?????

Wish I had asked this before setting the tank up and letting it cycle adding fish etc. but Bioballs are they good or bad. I have read they are really good at turning harmful bacteria into nitrate which is a good thing right. But now I have nitrates not a serious problem. Somewhere around 15ppm...

Have brown spots like nicotine stains appearing on my live rock. Any ideas what it is?

I introduced my cuc today a cleaner shrimp a blood shrimp and some crabs and snails. Floated them for an hour in the bags like I did with the fish, then slowly introduced and mixed the water and then added them fully to the tank. Within 30 mins the shrimps had died. Everything else was fine (so...

Also found this on my live rock. Again with the conditions in my tank at the moment while it cycles I am amazed anything is alive. Every now and again something pops out of this weird looking thing and then goes back in. Any ideas what it is?

Cycling my tank with live sand and live rock and after two days these little caterpillar things are appearing. I have three. My Ammonia and Nitrite levels are through the roof so how he is alive I have no idea. Sorry about the poor picture he is right at the back. Any idea what he is???

Have I put too much sand in and is that possible bearing in mind the sea bed is sand, lol. I tipped a whole bag of live sand in without thinking, it looked ok until I then put the live rock in and had to move the sand to get the rock sitting on the bottom. Now I have about an inch of sand...

Ordered x2 3000l ones instead of x1 now I have 2 should I just use them both or is that overkill.
