There was a strange white slime coming out of my live rock. From a small hole that looks like a mini volcano. When we tried to remove the puss the rock literally fell to pieces. There was a rancid smell and more puss and then some orange/pink looking thing. Hope the pictures help. Any idea's?????

The strangest thing I have ever seen. Tests are all normal though. Any idea's anyone???????

I'm not sure what it is, but I would consider getting that piece of rock out of there before it fouls your tank. That subject line is hilarious, though.

As you can hopefully see from my ipictures we have removed the offending thing from the rock. Couldn't get a picture of it but it was like a baby squid about 5mm long really strange.

thanks for the video, what a nice tank, but no I dont think it was that, it was like a mucas slime stuck to the rock, we went to just scrape it off the rock and thats when the rock exploded and a creature that was either a squid looking creature or maybe a feather duster came out and smelt rotten, like rotten flesh. So I dont think it was a duster unless they smell bad when they die inside rock.
