next point.... lol glowlites are my fav great schooling fish :D 5 or 6 is best

also male bettas are the ones kept in cups and have long fins.... the females are the ones kept in tanks in lage groups (NEVER PUT MALE BETTAS TOGETHER!!!)

that might not be a good idea for more than 2 or 3.... they are reall agressive in lager groups IME i have 2 and the are running my tank, not to an agressive level, but the other fish know their place

well 1" of fish per gallon.... 12x2=24 umm our gonna have tonz of room for more :D :D

i personally like glowlite tetras they are almost the same as neons but instead of the blue band it is a goldband. 2 more neons and 3 glowlites would work great!!! the would all school together so you have some color in our tank :D IMO pleckos are more for 10 gal +

i really like gold nugget plecos :D that would be my first choice also plecos can grow so in a few years you will need to upgrade to a bigger tank (1" of fish for every gallon)

What type of substrate do you have? sand? if so then it would take about 2 weeks for it to clear up IME, also how long have you been trying to clear things up?

I've never used salt and never will...I try to have as little salt as i can even for myself. Lets look at what is in salt(unnatural)Sodium....(goes Bang! when water hits it)Chloride(chlorine)......Mustard Gas anyone? when mixed together form a "safe" product known as salt... "safe"?? how can 2...

to fix a cracked tank is really easy if ou can find a piece of glass the same size as the cacked piece (hope its a side piece) cut the old piece out then seal the new one back in easy as that
