Ok I recently purchased a used 120 gallon tank with stand and canopy. And I had to sand down and re stain the stand and canopy. My question is is there a reason why people don't stain the in side of the canopy? Is it bad for the fish? Does it even matter? I just wanna know so I can finish it...

Ok well you should most likely medicate the whole tank.

It's probably a parasite or bacterial infection. I would medicate it as soon as possible. If you have any other fish(that aren't sick) I would take him out and quarantine in another tank ASAP.

I had the same thing happen to me. I had a female have about 4 and so far all have survived one has a bent spine tho. Some other females I brought from LFS had a batch each (25+). So good luck!

Do you have any pics of the little ones? I love guppies and the different varieties.

Will that fix the spine problem? Just asking cause I also have fancy guppies in a community tank and some of the babies have a spine problem. They seem healthy and happy given the bent spine.

Hey thanks! The heater is a EBO-JÄGER 150 watt which I'm pretty sure that it's not big enough to heat the whole effectively. And yeah I also got lights with the purchase but they look like just regular fluorescent lights. I'm willing to upgrade if need to for the tank. I'm just trying to do this...

Hello everyone, I'm excited to get to know some of you follow fish fanatics. And definitely to learn some new information about our shared hobby.

Something that I always keep on me for my tank is Maracyn-Two. It's a good all around med that I have found. Some of my fish just died out of nowhere it seemed like. But I went to mt lfs and they recommended that and I haven't really had a problem since.

I have experience in much smaller tanks (like 55g+). But I just purchased a 120g and stand. Has gravel, lava rocks, some decor, an air pump and a heater. The previous owner said that the old filter he was running it with was too messed to salvage. Idk I never saw it. Anyways I am looking into...
