Reef Equipment Upgrade leads to Sale

Some have asked so...The skimmer is complete. Some of the models they sell now come with a box that attaches to the outflow for prefiltering. This model never included that box. Otherwise it's in perfect condition, just to small for my new tank.

    About dosing routines ?

it is a drop test right? not a dip(litmus)? by NC red clay i asssume you mean north carolina? well for one te clay's cec abilities could be absorbing your buffering. De-ionization services use this to that very thing. absorb magnesium, calcium and sodium which may explain why adding baking soda...

    About dosing routines ?

xzap let me ask a few questions... other than the wod whats in your tank as far as like substrate and whatnot. did you use peat in your substrate possibly? whats your tap water test at? and whats your tank test at for GH? sounds to me like theres an imbalance in your buffering. have you ever...

Just my Nickel here... but i dont reccomend them. it causes more work that could just be done with a gravel vaccing. never ever use one in a panted tank. Mostly i replied because of the guy who said his lfs used them in marine tanks. if your interested check out info on the Jaubert system of...

    Which water test kit brand?

i think ic ame late to this. But i can not stress enough that if you can find it for 11 to 14 dollars the Tetra test Laborette Master Kit is the best choice and has the least variance in error i think maybe +/- .2 or something. People who use the EI method of fertilizing plant tanks wont buy...

    please help

That depends on how densely planted the tank really is. Could help very little or alot. But I would feel safe assuming he isnt using high light or co2 and therfore it wont help much if at all as his plants are locked in exactly how much uptake there is. I can tell you from experience if he's...

    Planting Groundcover

This method is used by many a well known Aquascaper. I just thought I would share it. You may already know. When you buy say glosso or Microswords they tend to come in a little "bunch". it's been my experience the novice tends to throw this in the tank as is, which will work, but will cause a...

Replacing stock light. Replace substrate too?

This is just IMO, but it is shared by a rather large community. Unless your growing heavily root based pants like swords, and even then, if you dose the water column well enough you dont need to worry about the substrate that much. it wont be alife or death descision for your plants. the heavy...

Why don't more people use flourish excel?

I agree it's not as effective in a larger water column. I will say that it is useful in addition to Co2 as many have found. It also has iron content which is good. I'd say that DIY is a better method. It's really not that bad i dont think. It takes me all of 5 minutes to mix and I just use 2...

I was wondering if anyone had a list or would like to help by contributing to my list(for an article) of the most wanted, hardest to find Aquascaping plants.
