    Coral life bio cube 14

My Biocube 14 has done great with an Intank media rack. I use filter floss ( which is really cheap to replace when dirty), Chemipure elite, and Purigen. It keeps your water crystal clear. I would recommend it. I had the bioballs and they did their job, but in the long run I only heard bad...

    Biocubers...

I actually did it. If you look down there with a light you will see a grate like thing. I took a long knife and cut a couple of the grates enough to get a metal hanger with a hook underneath it. I then just pulled a few times and it came up. I couldn't believe all the gunk that had collected at...

    Biocubers...

Has anyone taken out the false floor from chamber one in their biocube 14. If so, how and was it hard? I'm currently running an intank MB in chamber 2 and stock pump in chamber 3. I recently purchased a eheim jager 50w heater for the tank and it's huge! I was wanting to put the heater in...

    Neat little frag rack

It helps to keep my frags together. Also, it keeps my frags closer to the light source. I buy other corals with store credit from these frags.

    Neat little frag rack

So I was considering buying a small frag rack for my biocube. I had some time to burn so I stopped at menards to price some egg crate and magnets/ suction cups to make my own. As I didn't need a full 2x4ft piece for 15 bucks I set off to see what else I could find. I went down the vent aisle and...

Adding old bleached dead coral to cycled tank

If you can smell any bleach at all on the rock, I wouldn't put it in. I would buy prime water conditioner and soak it for 8 hours then test for bleach. When you reactivate purigen you mix bleach with water 1:1. And soak it for 24 hours. Then you soak it in two table spoons of prime for 8...

    Bleaching corals.

Is it normal after installing a media rack in an established tank to experience some bleaching. I've lost my Pom Pom Xenia corals also. If this is not normal what do I do. Frequent water changes? I've got a biocube 14.

    Biocube 14 media rack

My media rack just came in and I've slowly been taking out the bio balls. Does anyone have any pointers on installation? I'm pretty sure I have to take out the false floor in chamber 2 and widen the wall between 1&2. I'm planning on running floss, purigen, and Cpe. I'm excited about the results...

    New media rack

I recently ordered an in tank media rack for my biocube 14. It should be here in about a week. My tank is 10 months old and seems to be doing well. I'm ditching the balls and and filter pad(finally). I know your supposed to remove the balls slowly in an established tank but I was wondering if...

    Biocube product info

I was thinking of making my own fiber filters to save money and was considering using Penn plax procarb z for the carbon and using coralife pure-flow fine filter pad for the face of the filter pad. The coralife filter pad seems like a good product but I was worried that it wouldn't let enough...

    Aragonite vs Pool Filter Sand

Pool filter sand is so light that when you do certain things(aquascaping, placing powerhead, cleaning) it blows everywhere and gets you tank cloudy. Very light.
