    Hospital tank

Also, for the hiding spots, get some big PVC elbows from Home Depot. The meds don't leach into them and they are cheap for what they are. Good luck

    Kole Eye tang issue

Hi everyone, I purchased a yellow kole eye tang the other day and have him in qt with a juvi tomato clown. They get along very well, no friction at all. I have noticed however that the mouth of the tang looks all messed up and the tang's mouth is always open. I think the tang has eaten some...

    Tim's 54 Gallon Corner -> Going Reef

I have a 54g corner and have the eshopps psk100h skimmer and its fantastic!!! Pulls some nasty dark gunk everyday!!!! I highly recommend it!! The corners have no room in the stand and I am happy I was able to replace the terrible skimmer I had before! Good luck

    I need help w id

I have had my rock flower doing very well under about 2 watts/ gallon in my 180 going on a year now. I do feed it every few weeks specifically and it picks up whatever floats by. Rock flower anemones don't require the high light like carpet or bubble tips. Good luck!!

    Tom's 55G Saltwater

The eshopps is 150 and I'm sure you can find free shipping. It is so worth it for a hob. I know it's more than you wanted to spend, but a skimmer is a very important part of the equipment, next to the lights in a reef.

    Salt mix

We use the tropic Marin salt in all our tanks. Stable and never an issue. The calcium is a bit low, but I have been using the regular formula, not the reef. Their reef blend has a higher calcium content.

    Tom's 55G Saltwater

What do the reviews say about this skimmer? I know the eshopps hong on back and in sump work very well. I just dumped a boat load of nasty junk from mine today.

    46g Bowfront Reef: Phase 1

Honestly I only have experience with led lighting. I think someone can jump in, but for t5's, the recommended is about 4 watts a gallon for soft and most lps coral, more for sps. Hope that helps a bit.

    Yellow tang dead

Could have been stress from being in a tank that is way too small for any tang. Tangs in general need a 6 foot long tank.

    Brain coral?

Looks like a lobo brain to me. The open brains have a orbital looking skeleton when deflated( at least mine does) and crimps in the middle with its flesh. This looks to have a lobed skeleton.

Brown on sand getting worse and worse

We rigged ours up and use that floss stuff you buy in bulk and attach with rubber bands. My fish guy actually took the filter socks on purpose with him when he set my tank up because they are a hassle. I have a piece of egg crate cut to size in the first chamber and have the filter floss...

Brown on sand getting worse and worse

You should be cleaning your filter sock at least with every weekly water change! That could be a Hague part of your problem.

    Skimmer

I think the rule is to have a skimmer able to handle double your tanks water volume. I have a 54g corner reef and just picked up the eshopps psk100h and its fantastic! Removing all sorts of junk. I originally bought the system used with a junk skimmer. The old skimmer was producing very light...

    How to start a tank??

Parts per million. If you go the straight ammonia route, it takes very little to,get it up,to 4. Use a few drops and test it.

    Ricordea placement

I have mine on a rock mid tank, but most of my coral are moderate light and flow. Depends what you, have in the tank and how strong your lights are. Also, I think they prefer to attach to,rock, but in Florida you can't sell them attached to,a rock. Weird, but apparently true... Good luck

    New Quarantine Tank!

It's not ideal, but if you keep up on the water changes and everything you should be ok. Remember to re dose the copper with every water change to keep the amount of medicine in the water consistent. If you,do a 4 gallon water change dose only for the 4 gallons you replaced. Also, pick up a...

    New Quarantine Tank!

In order to kill the iCh in the display tank all fish need to be removed for about 6 weeks. Otherwise you will be constantly battling th same problem. Sorry and good luck!

    protein skimmer

I have the eshopps hang on skimmer and its working great. 2 day break in period and skims nasty gunk from my reef.

Brown on sand getting worse and worse

Stay safe and we can dal with the algae after your back up and running. Definitely don't dose the tank. I would get a small turkey baster and spot feed a non phyto based food like reef snow or marine snow. Less food in the water column.

    46g Bowfront Reef: Phase 1

Skip the marine land lights, they are all pretty bad. If you, were only looking at mushrooms, ok, but anything else and they are a fail. Also, skip the damsel. Aggressive and just not worth it. You could do maybe a coral Beauty angel for the same coloration.
