Yep new head. I've got 2 heads with new heads growing right on them (if that makes sense lol) and yep mine even eats huge chunks of nori that float around the tank, well I eventually have to take it away from it as it will never actually fit the nori in its mouth.

Yep I have one in my tank and he does the exact same thing. I was worried at first too but he'll come back up for long periods of time once he gets used to ur tank. Mine still goes under most nights.

I think you will both be ok. When I introduced my ff to the tank he didn't really come out for a week or so and was always changing color all the time. They are fairly timid fish. If it gets worse u might want to put the tang in qt for a few days and move some rocks. Might help, but as said...

I'm not to sure about the odd numbers thing. IMO ur tank is far to small for any tang really. He would of been very stressed in such a small tank. I would steer clear of any more in the future if I were you. Maybe a kole tang but even then it's to small and you are getting some of the biggest...

I have a conch that I got on beengirls suggestion and it does an awesome job! Very cool to watch as well. He's been buried in the sand a few day but I see an eye pop out every now and then so I assume he's ok lol... But for $5 it's a great deal

What is this guy? He only ever comes out at night time and even then I rarely see it. It looks to me like some kinda urchin maybe? Any idea on him being something I need to worry about? Sorry for the bad pic, it's only small!

What size tank is it? If u have a sailfin tang and 10 other fish it must be a big size? Maybe I missed something, if I have I appoligise.

Be careful there. Mine was the same when young but turned when he matured a bit. Ended up eating a clown and fairy wrasse one night. U may think there all friends but if a snowflake is hungry u never know what he will do.

I use a syringe to just suck off the slime when it starts peeling off. That way the leather is happier faster and there no slime floating into my filter.

It's normal I think. Mine does the same thing but it seems to be when stressed. It seems to happen if something walks across to pushes ect. From reading I think it's part of them growing too. Maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in.

Yes it most def is possible to have ammo spike when u add fish. What did u use to cycle? I'd be doing some 20 - 30% pwc to get the Ammonia and Nitrite down and test ASAP. Make sure u are keeping them as close to 0 is possible and u may even want to remove a fish and put it in the other tank so...

What are you water parameters? It's strange and I'm fairly new myself but to me it sounds like the rank may have ammonia in your tank. It's can slow breathing and burn gills so that would explain the rubbing on the gills. Do u have a test kit? Did u make sure there was no cycle on the 2nd tank?

I'm a bit late but I've been having the exact same issue. I run a fan on the back and leave the hood open all day while my whites are on. I've been going no higher than 79 - 80. Probs average about 80. Just my 2cents ;) I'm getting a chiller soon thank god!

I really wish. My tank is fairly new so just starting my coral collection. But in the future I'd love to do some swaps of frags :) I don't know many people in Melbourne into the hobby.

Yeah it's true from what I've been reading. There punch can be as fast and hard as a 2cal bullet. But I think if they have enough rock there normally pretty tame. He's been hiding in my tank at least a month now and I only just figured out it was in there lol.
