I have had two percula clowns for about a year, and they are quite healthy.

    Protein skimmers

Thanks for the responses. The CSS 65 gallon was the one I was looking at as anything over that would be way over kill.

    nassarius snails

I have quite a few of those snails in my tank, but am not certain on the number. I counted seven one night, but rarely ever see them.

    Protein skimmers

What is a good HOB protein skimmer for my tank? I'm going to toss my seaclone as I'm tired of fixing it every other week. I looked at the Coralife, but I didn't see any reviews for it. As anyone used this skimmer and had any problem with it?

    Easy saltwater tanks

I co-sign with others as this hobby is not cheap nor easy. I have spent thousands of dollars on my 29g. I don't have any anemones or coral, but I do have LR with lots of macro-algae. In a smaller tank it requires more maintenance and much more attention to detail.

    lawnmower blenny won't eat

I have to agree with Fluff about putting him in your main tank. It's not the best of options, but for fish like that it would probably be best. This is assuming you have plenty of algae in your main tank.

Poll: Do you use bare hands in the tank?

I always put my bare hands in my tank. I also make sure I haven't used any chemicals that day, and my hands are clean.

New Marine Aquarium Setup What Does Everyone Think?

Plus undergravel filters can be nitrate factories as well. Uneaten food and waste can slip underneath to decay raising your nitrate levels.

Saltwater aquarium creatures that you dont wanna mess with?

Stonefish and scorpionfish are venomous as well. Those two are very nasty. I've had close calls with Lions, and Scorpions but so far I've been lucky. When I worked at Petco I had a co-worker stung by a lion, but he was fine. He was envenomated, but heat was added immediately so he was fine.

New Marine Aquarium Setup What Does Everyone Think?

I have the seaclone 100, and at least once a week I have to adjust it. If you haven't bought it yet; spend a little more to get something a little more stable.

I wouldn't just in case you don't get the bleach all of the way out.

    my first post

You're volitan will get too big for a 55. They usually need a much bigger tank than that. Also down the road you're looking at a very heavy bio-load for a tank of your size with those fish.

    Disappearance

That was the last thing I checked actually. The jaws stay towards to the front of the tank, but I thought that could be a possibility.

    Disappearance

One of my jawfish disappeared yesterday. I went to feed last night, and it was gone. So I moved some rocks around to find a body, but no body. I checked all of my water parameters and all was where it should be. The other jawfish is fine and their are no signs of an attack on that one. I...

    Could you ID please?

Someday I'll break down, and get a camera. So many other things I need first though. Thanks for the reply. I'll do some studying on those to see if that's it.

    breeding saltwater fish

Jawfish are mouthbrooders. I've heard of them breeding in captivity but never seen it.

    Could you ID please?

On some of my LR I've got these clear tube-like figures protruding from the rock. They don't move around, but they seem to be popping up all over the place. What could they be?

how i killed all of my cyno EASILY

I hope you know Erthomician (sp) will kill your beneficial bacteria too. It would have been better to use chemi-clean or something along those lines to help fight the cyanobacteria,

    Panther Grouper

That grouper will make short work of your clowns once it gets bigger. I've seen small groupers take out dottybacks in seconds. And I'm going to echo what everyone else has said they get huge when full-grown. It's nothing like having two foot if not larger fish in your tank that will anything...

Still don't see pods. What's up?

I have a one year old tank, and I very rarely ever see pods in my tank. Once in awhile I'll seee something dart across the rock, but not a whole lot. I would look extra close when the lights come on. I've seen more that way then when the lights have been on all day.

I was going to add on to that. Those tangs are not exactly hardy, and are very sensitive.
