What method of diffusion are you using?

I love Peabody's Paradise, might check into buying that with my next shipment. This is a smaller tank though, and I can't find a power head small enough, even though I do have some ideas! One of my ideas is to buy a wooden air stone and use that, and hopefully get small bubbles. I won't have as...

What method of diffusion are you using?

That's where I got mine actually, I just got the wrong kind. Could I just get a small one that doesn't require much pressure?

What method of diffusion are you using?

Hey guys, I have DIY Co2 and have a diffusor for a pressured system that doesn't seem to work for my DIY (doesn't create enough pressure). Are there any diffusors that work for DIY that are specifically designed to diffuse Co2? Right now I am using a small Cascade internal filter, but it isn't...

    Planted Tank Bulb type help.

So heavy root feeders aren't necessarily looking for iron? Iron is only like .45% of that mixture. And seeing all these high quantity tabs, it begs the question, how hard are they to make yourself? Obviously there is the osmocote path, but RU tabs can't be that hard to recreate. But I don't...

    Planted Tank Bulb type help.

Hmm, I didn't see those until I just checked their website. They said they can cause ammonia spikes so be careful! ;)

    Planted Tank Bulb type help.

I have this lighting fixture, and believe it or not, the same bulbs as mentioned here. They are too wide, and bulge up if you are using a glass top. On the other note, RU Tabs are flippin' incredible. 50 pack for $10 that contain all nutrients. +1 for Peabody's Paradise as well. Great website...

Is Dollarweed okay for planted aquarium.

I actually tried to use dollarweed in two of my aquariums. One, my lowlight 55, it died off. On my mid-high light 10 it stayed around, but never grew much.

How would this LED fixture rank?

Wow, very knowledgeable. Thank you very much, I'll be sure to contact him. Just one more question, how can you tell the lighting without a par chart? I can't find out no matter how much I look, for LEDs that is.

How would this LED fixture rank?

LED Aquarium Lighting Freshwater Bright This website is great and full of cheap light LED light fixtures, but I have no idea how to tell whether they are applicable to planted tanks or not. Most have either 6700k LEDs or 10000k LEDs so i figure they can grow plants, but I am wondering if I have...

    Long plants

Sounds like maybe you could do some Saggitarius or Vallisneria! Both are rather "grassy" and can have large leafs!

    Baby tears

are you talking about dwarf baby tears (Hemianthus callitrichoides) or non dwarf or full size baby tears (micranthemum umbrosom)? I've been doing a bunch of research on the subject of non dwarf baby tears (i just purchased some) and forming a carpet with them. From everything I've read, the...

Hello all! I set up my 10 gallon recently with a brand new setup. For starters, I have 2 5000k CFL Daylight bulbs I recently setup DIY CO2 with a Cascade Power filter as my diffuser. The bubbles come out extremely tiny! My substrate is flourite with a little black gravel on top. For flora i...

    DIY Co2 System Question

Thanks guys! I think what I will end up doing is getting a tiny internal filter and hook up my air line to that. Either that or actually get a diffuser.. :thanks:

    DIY Co2 System Question

Hey guys, I've looked up many guides on diy co2 and i have a question the guides didn't answer. Where do I hook the "other" end of my airline tubing that goes in the tank, since I don't have a diffuser? I have a hob filter I am using (its a 10 gallon btw), so do i just put it right at the base...

Adding Texas Holey Rock to my Aquarium

Hey y'all, just got back from a trip to the deer lease:thumb:, and brought me back some Texas holy rock because I figured it would look good in my 55 gallon and I need some more hard scape.. Well anyways, I begun to think about it and it will mess with my pH if I'm correct. So I got home and...

Good Schooling Fish for a 55?

I like the suggestion and the side story, but the little research I've done on these guys shows that they due tend to go "carpet surfing" and I do not have an enclosed tank. Thank you for the suggestion though! :thumb:
