I’ve had the tank for 10 or so years, And it was bought quite used. If it is just been a leak or not a complete structural failure all would of been fine.
The good news is The cleaning crew was coming in today to remove the remnants of the aquarium and my wife made sure I removed all the...
I didn't actually get it done, as I was cycling the tank it exploded literally and flooded the house. Floors being ripped up, walls torn open to air out..... what a mess and worst of all an upset wife
It was the tank had it running at the same spot for years then emptied. I think it was old and who knows. Now I have to dry out floors, fix the hole n the wall......
Well hell broke loose. Filled it, set everything up washed all the sand. Then I heard a creak the side blew out cut me broke the stand and part of the wall. Leaked through floor into basement/garage. Insurance coming now
NOT WHAT I NEEDED
No problem better I make a decision for myself once in a while.
I'll probably post by tomorrow night what it looks like before fish but with the initial aquascaping. I will put the plants, driftwood, and some decor in right away.
I couldn't wait until next month. I went to my lfs where they were having a crazy sale on the Fluval FX4, it's rated up to a 250g tank so IMO prefect for 70g(I like to over filter)
I found the pure ammonia and some good looking pool filter sand I assumed it would be light colour but seems to...
Hi I'm just getting my tank up and running again. I noticed my API master kit liquids say they expire next month. I know at times things are good past expiry date. Anyone have any experience with this I would rather not have to invest in a new master kit right
Hi, after a year and half or so hiatus from the hobby the empty 70ish gallon (according to my calculations 75 gallon) is calling my name. I should clarify it's calling the kids names.
I'm planning a planted community tank nothing too complicated. Looking for input on stocking.
Here is what...
I might hold off actually setting it up. I might be taking a trip early March and will pickup some black diamond sand then. What grade did you use? I see medium and fine. I was hoping for some Cory’s and wouldn’t want them to get injured on it
I love sand I switched from gravel 10+ years ago...
Very nice! That look I like my issue is the black diamond is not available in Canada. I haven't seen anything comparable. I figure I will most likely go with pool filter sand unless magically I find something black this weekend. (As long as I can find some in the depth of winter.
I will...
It is from what I know impossible to legally send them from the US to Canada due to them being classified as a pest/possible invasive species. Thanks anyways. My loaches ate all mine
Thanks for the advice. It’s crazy I’ve been out of the hobby for a couple years and haven’t cycled or started a new tank in probably 20 years I feel like a newbie.
I am planning to go check it out. Just to confirm it needs to be inert and nontoxic. Is there anything else I need to make sure? If my kids have anything to say about stocking there will be snails and shrimp.
I am in Canada so prices are much higher then in the US. I looked the the fluval 406. (Good for 100g I always like to have my tanks over filtered).
I’ve always had my heater in the tank not an issue.
My issue now is finding an affordable substrate. I figure I need about 75-100lbs of sand for a...
Thanks, I was leaning towards the canister since it's also what I'm most familiar with and I would need to cut part of the canopy to fit a hob.
As for the sand I like the natural look, I heard natural (non dyed) play sand works well. Any opinions?
It has been years since I started a tank from scratch and I need some advice. I moved a couple years ago and well my tank did not survive the move even with all my efforts. It has been sitting empty since then.
Its a 70 gallon or so bow front. I will need to buy an new filter and sand/gravel...
Well someone ate the shark. He was perfectly fine 2 nights ago then came to look at tank in the morning only a skeleton left.

I wasn't sure about the shark thanks
I tried to add a few females boesemani a while ago and my males basically killed them. Honestly they are really colorful more so then any others I've see. For some reason I cannot seem to upload a pic.

Little update, so I was away for a few days and to surprise me my wife and kids got an angel and orange tail shark for the tank.
Everything seems good so they made the decision for me. I figure I should probably add a couple more angels to keep the peace in the tank
Do the Sharks need to be...
