I'll use the 50/50 mix of water and vinegar to clean the tank. Will the sand be safe to use if its been sitting "wet" from the last 6 months? I kept about 1" of water over it. It was only used in the tank for about 4 months before we ended up selling our house and moving. Thanks.

TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids and is measured in parts per million. Water from an RO unit with DeIonization will be almost a reading of 0ppm TDS. My tap water comes out at 500ppm TDS.

Seeing I don't have anything yet, will that matter? Or do you mean if I buy new ones I'll have to get them acclimated? Can a person buy a separate dimmer control for LED's?
