Thanks guys, so I guess the breeder idea is a no go. I use NLS .5mm pellets. It kind of works if I throw some food at the top to distract the big fish and then grab some pellets and dunk it near the labs.

I've been doing about 20% water changes every day but it still seems to be stuck.

Update on the platy. The little guys seems to be doing fine in the hospital tank thankfully. Water params have been stuck on 1 ppm ammonia lately because these platies are about a week old. The tank is going through a miny cycle. Hopefully it will go down soon.

Just an update: after two days of intense chasing and bullying of the platies, my betta seems to be fine with them. Everyone just minds their own business. Thanks to Shellieca and KevinM for the info!

The platies have short-ish tails. Nothing too fancy.

Its only been about an hour since I introduced the betta to his tank mates. My betta has lived with a school of neons before and the tank was relatively peaceful.
