What is the best lighting spectrum for calerpa algae (actually the girl at the store called it Califera) but anyways should I go with a 10,000K white or an actinic blue bulb? Any advice would be great. Thanks! :) Jimmy

I dont think my 6g is overcrowded. The fish dont seem to be getting any bigger but they seem to be perfectly happy. They swim like healthy fish and have hearty appetites. JW

I would like to get a Pacific Blue Tang for my 55 gallon tank. It is 4 feet long but it has lots of live rock. AT the LFS they said my tank was too small for that fish. WHat do u guys think? Jimmy

Well if all those minerals are naturally present then why not add them. The protein skimmer removes them so I add them once a week on Wednesday and I do a 10% water change on Saturdays. JW

This is for my 55 gallon tank. I want to make a weeks worth of kalk and mix it with a weeks worth of coral vite.

Is it safe to add my nutrient additives (Kent Coral-Vite) to my kalkwasser? I would add it to my dosing system after I dump the good water in there, not before, obviously. But will there be a chemical reaction that prevents either the calcium, alk, or additives from being added to my tank? JW

I use Red Sea test kits ordered from www.marinedepot.com. For $50 you can get everything that you need to test for a reef. JW

Every time I measure my alk it is off the charts? I initially filled up my tank with tap water but now I use RO water. Is it possible to have too much alk? I was using a test kit that wasnt very accurate (test strips) so that could be part of it. Is it possible to have too much Ca or Alk? Jim

What about kalkwasser? doesn't that raise PH? as well as other things? JW
