I like the trash can idea thanks I'll have to buy some. Before I would fill up multiple 5 gallon containers and id be soar for a while after. Its cool I guess, I knew what I was getting into setting up a 90 lol. Time for some fun :) ....as for metals I have a phosban reactor as well.
I just bought a new place and dread transporting the water. I was thinking, would it be so bad to just use treated tap water along with an algae scrubber . If I top off with RO water eventually the scrubber will exhaust most if not all the phosphates from the tap. Anyone see any flaws in this...
Just make a hole right before the water line of ur return pipe. This will prevent a flood, that and using directional nozzle pointing up breaking the water. The idea is to let air get in so the siphon breaks is pwr goes out.
The sump is fully cycled already I have plenty of live rock I shouldn't see much of a spike when I flip the swith on pump and overflow.I've upgraded plenty of times the same way never had an ammonia spike. Thanks for ur concern though
I realize no one answered my last msg but to add on to the person that cares enough I have another question. Can put my livestock in tank while cloudy from sand. Will it have any neg affects
Its still the exact same, the skimmer started working then a few hours later it wasn't skimming anymore and this is after 24hrs I cannot do a water change I don't have cash til fri :(
Yea only bad thing is I cleaned my skimmer so its not doing anything yet. As for salinity I used two 50g bags that would make salinity .21 I want it at .25 does the amount of salt per gallon sound about right
Ok so encountered a problem. I purchased two bags of sand and rinsed then for what felt like hours and felt like I was wasting a lot of sand. Wouldn't u know it I still got a cloud when I put sand in. I still haven't adjust salinity levels and was wondering if the Cloudiness would throw off...
Just waiting for salt to dissolve then checking salinity and moving in the stock :) tomorrow I'll do all the plumbing I'm beat. Had to go back in forth to lfs for ro water ::sigh::
