I'm inches form a decison to go MH, and am leaning toward dual 250W SE mogul bulbs. Are DE bulbs better? More light per watt? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need a btter light canopy - my lights are fine, but they sit in a hodd right on top of may tank, and I have to take it off or tilt it on its side to get into the tank (my hands, that it). ANyone know of good DYI plans or a store that sells them? My tank is small - 30 gal, 36" wide.

I have a small hammer coral (branching) in my six-week old tank, in which zoos, Xenia, Montipora and mushrooms are thriving. I was cautioned on another forum (too late!) about adding a hammer coral "so soon". Assuming my water params are ok, is there a reason to be concerned?
