    Chris' 29 gal Biocube

Protein skimmer My LFS has advised me that with weekly 5gal water changes and not over feeding the fish, a protein skimmer is not needed. I'm not sure where I would put one anyway as the top comes down too low over the main part of the tank and the big chamber in the back is full of live rock...

    30 Gallon Start Up

I love my 29 gal Bio cube! It's just big enough to have plenty of room, although not big enough for tangs, but small enough that maintaining it is a breeze. I was real zealous about taking readings every day, then it got to be every other day, then once a week, now, I'm real lazy. I do...

    Manjano? Aiptasia?

So I went out and got a book called "Anemone Fishes and their host anemones" by Daphne Fautin & Gerald Allen. By using their identification guide, it came up with Heteractis crispa. I'd hate to kill something that is so pretty just on a suspicion, but I also don't want to ruin my tank!

    Manjano? Aiptasia?

Thanks Amitas, It's definitely not the aiptasia, and doesn't have the long base that your pic of the mama no shows as it sits flat on the rock, nor the fattened tentacles, so maybe it ain't either. I won't try and get rid of it yet.

    Manjano? Aiptasia?

The tentacles are pretty slender. I had heard that the majanos were bulbous at the end, which these are not.....

    300 gallon "Outside Corner" Reef

Engineer Goby's I've got two in my 29 cube that are a little over 1 yr old (at least in my tank), and they are already about 8" long and it is amazing how much sand they move!

    Chris' 29 gal Biocube

Hey everyone! Thanks for taking a peek! Any comments or suggestions are welcome! Please ignore the pink algae. Seems to come up by end of day (6 hours of light) and is gone in morning... Tanks been running since 1/1/13. Leather coral in center is the star, but the Brain Coral is pretty awesome too!

    Manjano? Aiptasia?

Since the FAQ under Identification doesn't work (can only see one pic no matter what you click), I'm forced to start here. This is two pics of a "volunteer" that just showed up in my tank a couple of months ago, even though I haven't added anything new in at least 9 mos! It started out about the...
