    I need y'alls advice on C02 system

The liquid CO2 supplement just isn't cutting it because I run out and it takes me a couple of weeks to get another bottle, but by that time I have problems. Anyway, what is the best system considering an efficiency and price equillibrium and where can I find it? This is for a 60 gallon.

Siamese algae eaters? I have some hair and beard algae that I just cannot get rid of so I am going to get some Siamese algae eaters. What to put in 55 Gallon?

Get the biggest Gourami you can find and join him with about 30 neon tetras. It will be a thing of beauty. Your Gourami will just be your centerpiece. If you insist on predator types then do not get any of these fish.

How many male dwarf gouramis in a tank?

http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_pages/gouramis/dwarf_gouramis.htm Don't mean to continue to hijack your thread, but I figure I can get info I need while helping your initial posting get more traffic and replies. According to this site, they say you can have a few males together, but they...

How many male dwarf gouramis in a tank?

I am considering adding a female dwarf gourami with my beautiful male dwarf gourami. Just fyi, you will not have the same breeding issue as you had with your platies 10 years ago. Platies and guppies are live breeders and their breeding is highly prolific. Egg laying fish are nowhere near the...

I have no idea what I'm doing!

aqadvisor.com shows four guppies in a 10 gallon would be fine with an aqua-tech 5-15 filter as it is rated for up to 15 gallons. An even bigger filter would not hurt though. Based on what I have learned though guppies have a decent bioload for their small size so keep up on the partial water...

what are the risks if any of introducing african dwarf frogs to community tank?

Thanks. I have decided against it for my 60 gallon. I was using a 16 gallon bowfront for my QT tank. I am thinking about setting it back up just as a smaller stock tank and maybe having some frogs in that one. I can always pick up just a plain jane QT tank to replace what I have been using...

what are the risks if any of introducing african dwarf frogs to community tank?

I have driftwood in places that range from a few inches from the top to maybe 12 inches from the top. I figured they would stay perched on driftwood. But I am very unfamiliar with their behavior and I am not sure if they could possibly introduce disease to my tank. Anyone with actual experience...

what are the risks if any of introducing african dwarf frogs to community tank?

I was thinking about adding two or three ADF to my 60 gallon planted community that includes angelicus botia, red wag platies, guppies, neon tetras and a beautiful dwarf gourami. also large colony of rcs with lots of moss and hiding places (driftwood, plants etc.) do ADF need to be quarantined...

Free: Guppies! Free to good home-not as feeders!

still no answer? I am still interested in some guppies. Preferably all males as I prefer not to frantically attempt to save the fry, but I do have a lot of plants and moss so most of any fry will probably be ok if you send both male and female. I sent you a PM previously. Let me know.

    pros and cons?

I guess I mainly want the cons of having a saltwater tank that will eventually have reefs that has no overflows or protein skimmer? In a couple of months from now I am going to either do a 29 gallong biocube or really go crazy and do a six footer so I can have tangs. I know the biocube is all...

It is not tannins! I don't think.

Just telling you the facts. They were lodged in the intake openings. My filters are AC110 and AC70. They probably went to feed on it and got sucked against it lodging them in the openings. Not sure what you mean by you cannot agree. It is not a gray area issue. What I explained actually...

It is not tannins! I don't think.

well, I don't mean to doubt that, but this just cannot be the case. I have had them for over nine months, but after I first got them. initially got seven, and before i got pre-filter sponges i came home and they were all sucked up in the holes of the intakes. all of them. i immediately turned...

It is not tannins! I don't think.

I tried that before I went with these pre-filter sponges I use. It also gets a slime build up and restricts flow even worse. I must have some kind of issue I have yet to diagnose that is causing accelerated gunk/slime build up. I read about it, but the only remedy I could find is a chemical to...

It is not tannins! I don't think.

Well I have an AC110 and an AC70 on my 60 gallon. Sure figured I was more than fine with filtration. As for the pre-filter sponges, when I first fired my system up 10 months ago I kept losing shrimp. Then I put in otocinclus and those guys would get sucked up to the intake and would die there. I...

It is not tannins! I don't think.

the driftwood came from established tanks from LFS. I have had it for about 10 months now. And it is the prefilter sponges I am talking about. I cover the intakes of my filters with fluval edge prefilter sponges. within two days or so flow is restricted. I have to turn it off and pull those...

Best CHEAP CO2 system for 50g?

Not sure how much you already know so you may know more than I do, but I will operate off of the information in this thread. Based on what I have learned from this forum the last year is that CO2 requirements depend on a few factors. Most important is the type of lighting you are using. Low to...
