That's just cichlids being cichlids. You might wanna add more to spread the aggression out. If their is only 4 then they can claim territory, if there's more cichlids, to much is going on to claim territory. I have 14 in my 55. Honestly I need to add a few more

I've done this and it work for me. But I had some fake plants around it to make them feel more protected. After releasing the new guy, the others never bothered.

it's possible she mated with another lab. But either way I am not killing them. Letting them go in the big tank is practically killing them knowing 95% won't make it. I have a few hybrids and I love em. I already talk my LFS and they said they would take em.

I think you should be okay. I wouldn't think 12 hours would kill off all of your BB. But that's just IMO. As long as it was sitting in water and not bone dry you should be okay

Move the rock. It resets the territory and feed right before you add the new fish. I will even put my new fish in a breeder box for a couple of days so the fish can see and get use to the new guy and after I released him, they didn't even acknowledge the new guy.
