    Good planted tank fish species

Cories are community fish. You should have more. They do better when bought together. If you have the room, try some schooling fish.

    Aquatek co2 system help!

I don't have a CO2 cylinder yet, but I have worked on gas systems. Make sure everything is sealed tight but not over tight. Check your connection with soap water to see if there is a leak.

    Plants with RES

Yes I have a 10 gallon where I have Endler guppies, 3 assorted Cory's and pond snails with Moneywort, dwarf amazon sword grass (some of which is in the the turtle tank now) and red Wendtii. I am putting some Endlers in turtle tank when their numbers are too high and was thinking of duckweed to...

    Vacuuming

Depends if your doing live plants. If you are not, you could skip a week with the gravel vac. If you are, only do it when there is build up as fish waste will act like a fertilizer for plants.

    Lighting for RES

I'm in the process of setting up a tank for a RES. I plan on having Amazon Sword Grass in the tank and using rocks to make one area to get out of water and turtle dock to bask. I've been reading about the reptile basking lights that heats and emits UVA/UVB. I was thinking of doing in house stuff...

What equipment is needed for a turtle tank?

I'm in the process of setting up a turtle tank as well. You need a filter, a UVB bulb/lamp, a turtle dock if aquatic, if you want a substrate it can't be small enough for turtle to eat, a heat lamp, a heater for the water. That's what I have gathered so far. The filter I plan on getting is a in...

    10 Gallon Stocking Suggestions

Really it's up to you. Just make sure you cover your bases. My suggestion is get a colorful fish for your center piece with some very small schoolers. If you are a beginner, try having a Gourami or Beta as a center piece and then some smaller schooling fish. Just put your center piece fish in...

    10 Gallon Stocking Suggestions

What kind of plants are you using? Will you have a lid? Nerite snails have a tendency to escape aquariums. You should look at shrimp as well. Amano shrimp are larger shrimp and eat most algae you would encounter with planted tank. The reason I ask plants is due to color in tank. If you get a red...

Hi, I have a 20 gallon long I'm gonna convert into a turtle tank for local turtles. I plan on getting a basking light, UVB lamp, turtle dock and what not. Best light

What are you planning to do with it? If your willing to put the money out, I would always suggest LEDs for planted of reef. Just make sure whatever you get, you focus on the right spectrum of light needed as well as intensity.

    oxygen reactor

Put bubbling stones at bottom, and force air through it. Not only does it create circulation, but it also puts air in tiny bubbles. These small bubbles will then have the gas exchange mentioned and will try and make an equilibrium with the gas in the bubble.

    t5 or t8 lighting

In terms of growing plants it goes: Sunlight Plant specific LEDs T4 T5HO T5 T8 Etc. Go with T5, get bulbs for 6500k light and enjoy. If its dual bulb, have one as mentioned and other a floral bulb. The thing about growing plants is the proper light spectrum.

    Flourish Excel not killing BBA

What's the distance between light and gravel? When was last time you changed your light bulbs? More likely, your lights are too strong for your plant. Remember that wattage of bulb doesn't mean anything unless the spectrum is decent, the height from source is acceptable, and the bulb is newer...

    A new 5 gallon

In work, I have a 10 gallon tank with Endler Guppies, 3 Cory Cats and pond snails with Amazon dwarf hair grass, Moneywort and Red Wendtii. My boss recently brought in 3 tanks, another 10 gallon, a 5 gallon and a 20 gallon long. I really don't want to do another planted for the 10 and 20 as the...
