I have about a 3 inch sand bed and I cycled with live rock and a shrimp the tank has been up for sometime now and I was wondering if I should vacuum my sand to get all the dead stuff that fell off and to clean my sand. I had live sand.

In my tank the return from my sump has maybe tiny bubbles or small particles or something coming out with the water. what is this? is it harmful? a friend of mine said that they maybe micro bubbles. Is my skimmer causing this? Oh I've only had my tank running for a week or so.

Ok so I plan on getting some LR from liverocks.com, when my tank comes in. I plan on doing my cycle with the LR. My question is what are the chances of "hitchhikers" surviving the cycle?

Is there anything wrong with starting out your tank with tap water because I don't think I can make all the trips necessary to get RO/DI water from my LFS to fill my tank. If it's ok should I add something like aqua safe to neutralize chlorine, etc..

I am wanting to start a 70 gal reef ready tank and am wondering what size sump and pump I should use? I have been looking at this pro clear sump that is rated up to 150 gal tanks but 600 gph. I heard that you want about 700 gph for a 70 gal tank. would 600 gph be sufficient?
