The tank was just recently set up about a week ago and I've tested the water and the ph levels are where they should be. After putting in the air stone the fish has stopped gasping and is doing great! The water is not full brackish as I'm not sure how the Cichlid would do in full brackish but...

I bought one of the long bar air stones and after just a little while the fish is back to normal staying in the middle region of the tank vs gasping at the surface. Thank you!

This tank is just temporary I am upgrading to a 29 gallon or larger as soon as possible.

I have a 5 gallon tank with two fiddler crabs and an African Cichlid. The two crabs have a plant they climb to get to the surface for air, and I have a tetra whisper internal filter rated for 2-10 gallons. The filter doesn't seem to be providing enough agitation on the water's surface to aerate...

It looks like my big female is prego! she has a large sponge-like mass coming out of her belly flap and I believe it's a mass of eggs! I have absolutely no idea how to even start caring for a pregnant fiddler or for babies! how are the eggs fertilized? are they fertilized after she drops them or...

yeah sorry I just took it with my phone I'll have a new better pic up ASAP. it is possible I guess, there are two males in the tank with her and one other female so it's possible. it didn't look like there are any eggs though. it's just all black?

One of my female fiddler crabs just molted successfully:D unfortunately I didn't get to see the molt happen:/ she looks like she's doing good and I left her shell for her to eat. she is now sitting on top of a coral decoration with her belly flap kind of thing open and a big sponges thing sort...

I have two fiddler crabs, two males and two females. When I bought the crabs, they were all the same dark brown-black color. Recently, like in the last few days, the larger male and the larger female have changed color. They have both developed a MUCH lighter tan color, almost like a sand color...
