New fish, now what??? Hongi & kribs

Yeah, she does look a little bloated. I thought it might have just been camera angle though. Could you get a better picture? Us she swimming normally?

New fish, now what??? Hongi & kribs

I would recommend removing the divider. Those fish need the full length of the tank without the divider in it.

Generally by the time they're like that they're gonners, sorry for your loss :(

    What kinda fish is this

Maybe it'll scrounge the bottom for food?

New fish, now what??? Hongi & kribs

The hongi should take care of them if she isn't under stress from other fish. What size tank are you dividing? You may be able to take the divider out and get better results. Kribensis aren't usually that aggressive when breeding if they have enough space.. How many tanks do you have? What size...

    Need help first tank!!

Umm, I would invest in an API saltwater master kit for your usual parameters (ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate) do you know how long the tank was setup for before you bought it? As for the salty side of things you'll need to invest in a few other things that I don't know the names of lol. I think...

    New fish

Well if its just the 3 tetras in it I would say add 3 more so they can school, other than that you have a ton of options in a 40 gallon! I would do some cruising around on the site and look for some you like, then come back here and we can help you with a stocking list that'll work for your tank...

    New fish

What size tank are we talking here?

    25 gallon tank

I like my 29, it's a little on the boxy side, so it's kind of like watching tv. Not too good for partial air breathers however because its tall, and more active top swimmers tend to like a more horizontal length than I have.

    Need help first tank!!

Do you have a test kit? Some parameters would be great here. It sounds like something is wrong there. (I'm on the freshwater things so my knowledge is limited, just trying to help others help you)

    Barbs pick on pleco

You can try it, but you're mixing Africans with dwarf cichlids and community fish, which is a risky combo.

    What the heck is that???

It's a puffer fish!!! I'm not an expert on puffers by any stretch, but it could be a full grown Green Spotted Puffer.

    Barbs pick on pleco

Yeah you could do the other barbs I guess, in other news that jack Dempsey will kill everything in that tank lol.

    Fish bowl use

I imagine if you used a bubbler to keep things moving it would, and probably not without a filter of some sort.

    Barbs pick on pleco

I would look into getting more rosy barbs definitely and see if that helps. What is the stocking of the tank right now? And yeah that looks like a common. You can also try giving the pleco some more hiding spots to get away from the barbs.

    Albino Pleco mysteriously died.

Could have gotten bumped during the water change or something, that's all I can think of.

    Hole im my fish!

I would move it to another qt tank by itself to prevent it spreading to other fish

    Skinny ram?

Fin rot will generally heal on its own with clean water and good parameters, I would recommend moving the ram to its own tank however so it won't have to compete for food.

    Fish bowl use

Shrimp tanks? Terrariums? Grow out plants?

    Carey's Updated Tank Thread!

Cool! I'd love to see pictures of the yellow goby and the mandarin :) I think those are so pretty.

    Aquarium salt yes or no

I don't use it unless there's an illness. Good water quality and maintenance keeps fish just as healthy.

    Newbie. 5 gallon tank help

What kind of fish do you want? I'm actually looking for a tank more of your size to downgrade to, because I love bettas and would like to focus on just one fish. If you're looking to have a full tank with lots of fish you may want to consider an upgrade. You should be excited about whatever tank...
