I've had no problem growing Staurogyne Repens and Monte Carlo with the same livestock. Just keep any Corycats out while they are trying to take root !!! Especially the Monte Carlo !! :lol:

I've used both substrates and I would just add more sand. I didn't rinse my eco, but my eco-complete tank gave me fits from day one. P.I.T.A to plant any 'fine ' rooted plants, especially Monte Carlo, or any carpeting plant for that matter. Every morning they were floating or stuck to my filter...

Mine did the same thing after initial planting. Turned all brown and melted away, but as long as you see some new , green growth, it comes back. Keep it cut short when it starts to fill in or else it will lift out of the substrate. Love M.C., but I learned recently it has a ' shelf life'. Good...

I usually let my tank run for a few weeks before adding plants, but melting is common. Some are more extreme than others, but I think most suffer some degree of melting. Hang in there, keep an eye on everything, and you'll start to see improvements. Plants started immersed will suffer the most.

Great news !!! Thanks for the I.D. I had some Flying Fox's a while back I had to get rid of, they turned nasty !! These will be gifted out as well as this is only a 20G L , so they will out grow it pretty fast, but hopefully not before cleaning things up a bit. Thanks Again !!
