There are possible ways to fix it... As you mentioned you can take it out for a few days, once you do that I would rearrange the decor. Adding more cichlids could help ease down the aggression as well. I've turned mean cichlids into not so mean cichlids before, it can be done.

Yes I work at a family owned pet store and it's not uncommon for one flowerhorn to actually kill off all the others ( of it's own kind ) in the tank. They are pretty aggressive

They don't play Xbox and they don't always get dessert ;) ... and I've tried lettuce and they seemed afraid of it haha

She gets along with everyone. She is the biggest in the tank and doesn't bother anyone, nor get bothered herself. She's a real sweetie, but thank you. As I always tell people cichlids are random, what works with me or you, may not work with someone else. They all have different personalities.

Yes that will happen.. But not with ALL cichlids

Are you sure? My tank is heavily planted and the Severum hasn't bothered my plants.. He's been in there a good month

I've also had success with a gold Severum who is currently in a community tank of mine and he doesn't bother anyone

You could add any ram ( gold, german blue, bolivian ) .... Apistos would probably be okay. Maybe even a kribensis would be alright. Keyholes are also pretty peaceful.

You should be fine with any of those fish with your ram. They mostly keep to themselves, I have gold and german blue rams in community tanks and the only time they get a little aggressive is towards each other.
