Why don't my cichlids eat their veggies!?

Hello all!

I have a 75 gallon cichlid tank stocked with a variety of Africans. I feed omega one veggies flakes and NLS pellets. I tried seaweed, didn't touch it. I tried zucchini, didn't touch it! I just recently tried chopped lettuce and they didn't want that either! They act like they were scared of it. I thought Africans loved these kinda foods? Are some just picky?

Im not really a cichlid guy but the parrot fish is a SA cichlid hybrid. I think in this tank it will either be a huge bully or be bullied.

She gets along with everyone. She is the biggest in the tank and doesn't bother anyone, nor get bothered herself. She's a real sweetie, but thank you. As I always tell people cichlids are random, what works with me or you, may not work with someone else. They all have different personalities.

Her question was about the veggies not stock but I had the same problem and my whole stock are mbuna witch are veggie eaters and they do the same ignore it or pick at then swim off lol

Thank you... and I'm actually a guy lol. Trust me people always want to make a comment on my stock. Been doing this for over a year.. But glad I'm not the only one with the problem! Guess my fish were just spoiled on flakes and pellets they don't want their veggies

Thanks.....really what kind do you have? Mine a pretty rare variant can't f in these guys anywhere in the north....mostly houston

Not sure... But she has the darker color with the multiple yellowish vertical stripes like I see yours has in the pic
