What are pugnax like? Are they shy?

Well, i'll attempt to breed them that is. Smaragdina are pretty much the same as splendens. But as far as i know with simplex is that they just decide for themselves whens the right time (and hopfully there will be aright time!!)

I've been wanting wilds for a lonnng time now and i finnaly got some! :D :D :D I got a pair of b. Simplex, which is a mouthbrooder, and 4 young b. smaragdina which are bubblenesters. They are all sooo cute and I can't wait to breed them, especially the simplex as i've never had mouthbrooders...

Hard to tell cus the fins are already red, but he looks fine to me as well. If chunks start disinagrating then its fin rot, just keep water clean and he'll be fine :)

Many breeders now are using imbellis to cross with splendens, this is how the copper colour started.

What does DI do exactly? I know it Deionizes the water or whatever, but what does that mean? How does it differ from a membrane? What would it do to the water without the membrane? Just curious... thanks ashley

Thats cus i have several tanks ranging from 1liter to 20gals. Does the baking soda increase the ph at all? ashley

How can I raise the GH without changing the pH? How hight does it have to be to be stable? I don't have the tank space for driftwood... ashley
