I think that 200 litres is definitely enough for one Oranda and two Hong Kong Plecs! Also they'll have the lettuces, basil and strawberries as well as water plants.

My test is liquid but is 5-in-one. It has Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, Ph, and High Ph but what I mean in 5-in-one is that they are all in the same kit together. Sorry about the confusion. API kit is what it's called.

Would 100 litres be enough? That would have plants growing out of the top though so most of the nitrate would get used by the plants and thus taken out of the water - and any spare ammonium not turned into Nitrite by Nitrosomas bacteria would get used by the tank plants.

Good idea! The only problem is how can I only submerse the roots and not the rest of the plant? Also, it will mean I will have to take the lid off won't it? That's the only source of light for the tank. It sounds like a good idea though so hopefully I'll try it soon! ;)

Just tested my water for the 1st time using my new master test kit! I got about 0.3 Ammonia (water change tomorrow), 0.1 Nitrite (just about safe), around 30 Nitrate and roughly 7.6 pH.

I'm not arguing just trying to find out because at the minute I can't get a bigger tank.

Apparently they've changed the tube so (unhealthy) fish don't get stuck in the tube now.

More reviews are saying how bad the old pump was and back to the roots is giving a new pump to everyone who needs one (if they write about it of course).
