Andy great info, I think he got this fungus from being under stress, my Angel and 1 parrot started to chase him almost on a constant basis. I got to the point where I turned the lights off just to calm then down enough to leave the poor guy alone, then 2 days ago I noticed the white cotton...
Thank you Istrom, I don't have a hospital tank though :-( should I do a water change and then put the meds in?

Sorry my gourami fish has cotton stuff on his gill plate, I'm guessing it's fungus, no other fish is sick, all parameters are good temp is 79 ,55 gallon tank, been up for over a year with no real issues.

Can I use tetra fungus guard in my tank with my pictus cats, blood parrots and Angel fish?

It would just be a small dose, preventive I guess you'd call it. I had a friend who used it after every w.c and she never had any problems with keeping her parameters good or any sick or stressed fish. Just looking for pro's and con's. Thanx for your reply.
But......angels are fin nippers, at least the 2 I have are, so with guppies and their beautiful tails won't that be a problem?

Will the rams eat the guppies? In my 55 I have pictus cats and Cory's cats have been on their best behavior as I still have all 6 cory's 2 are very small, but I have to admit in the morning when I turn the light on I count my cory's :-) didn't know that about mollies, thanx for the info on...
Ok, instead of the dollars what else could I do ? I will be getting a couple of pictus cats for bottom movement, maybe some mollies?

Just starting to set it up, after its cycled wondering what to put in it. Have a 55g established community tank so want a little bit of a change up.

Thank you for the info, I'm surprised you would need a 75g, this is why I love this forum, all the great info people give you, I'd rather be safe that duffle with it later and hate it.:fish2:
So once the tank is cycled, would like to do discus fish, with tank mates, any suggestions, thanx

Yes I agree on the slow growing and they stay small and hungry. I've had common plecos, and omg talk about big and lazy, then what to do with them at 11 inches?
Fat and happy, love these guys, I have 2 in a 55, hit them 5 months ago, this one grew very fast my other is still the same size as he was when I brought him home, about an inch.
