Mine doesn't bother the snails. The hermit crabs are the ones who do that to get their larger shells.

Got mine in 5 days. Rinsed it off for about 5 days. It is very dusty so I made sure it was clean by hosing it off many many times. THen I stored it in my water change garbage cans til it dried. Rock is very nice. It has been in my tank 5 months an it is hard to tell it apart from my Fiji...

Have you tested for phosphates?

I drilled my sump. Use the hole saw bit and USE the center pilot bit. If you do not use the pilot bit in the center the hole saw will jump around and you will have a better chance of cracking your sump.. Just keep the drill level and go slow and you will have no problems. Good Luck

I have a 226 gallon tank and my SLF Crab is getting big and aggressive. It has eaten all my peppermint shrimp and two smaller cleaner shrimp. I see it trying to grab my pygmy angel and my watchman goby all the time. I have tried a bottle with the top cut off and ziptied back on upside down...

I use Oceanic and it has been fine. It does dissolve very quick. The last bucket I bought has low ph readings though (there are threads about this problem) so I am thinking of switching over to Kent on my next bucket.

Take a sample to your local fish store and have them test it. If your nitrates shot up when the nitrites dropped it could be possible. I use the Ap kit too for normal testing but for better accuracy I prefer the salifert ones. Also your nitrates would not go down like that without a water...

Seems too quick to me. What test kit did you use? Maybe an extra drop or extra powder (dep on test kit used) got in the first test and read high. How long has the tank been running/cycling. What ate you other parameters? I guess the nitrites could have converted to nitrates but seems awful...

It is macroalgae. I use it my refugium to help with ph swings and for nutrient export. I have my refugium lights on opposite my tank lights and my ph stays stable now.
