Hey everyone so over the weekend I got a great deal on a fluval 306 canister. I just set it up last night. Now I have never used a canister filter before so I don't really know much about them. The filter is running and I can hear a pretty decent humming coming from the canister. Is this normal...
I have my 32g tank set up in my bedroom. I'm running a aquaclear 70 on it but I find the humming of my filter is far to loud for me to sleep. Does anyone see any problems arising from me shutting down my filter nightly from around 10:30pm to 4:30am?

So I just bought a 70 gallon off kijiji for 80 bucks with stand. My first question is will it be to heavy to put on the second floor if my house or will it be okay? Second question is what's my best option for a filter, I don't want to get a canister because I don't have that much extra cash...
So I know that there is no "best" tank size because it's all personal preference. However I'm just wondering what people think is the best tank size is that you can get a good amount of fish in. I have a 10 gallon tank that is extremely limiting and I want to start thinking about an upgrade. I...
My tank has basically completed it's cycle so im now thinking about my stocking options. I have been to my lfs a few times and have seen a few fish that I would really like to have. The thing is I'm not sure about how many of each I can have or if these fish are ever suitable for my tank or to...
So I just tested my water and got this.
If I understand correctly, I should re dose my ammonia and then check back at this time tomorrow. If I have the same results then my tank is cycled and I'm ready for fish? Also to bring down my nitrates I just do a simple water change?
I'm do impatient for my tank to cycle. All I want to do is get some fish in there!!! I can't wait anymore:( sorry, just a little vent, my girlfriend and friends are so sick of hearing me talk about my tank lol
So I have just completed my first week if the cycle. These are my results
Just a few questions.

I'm looking for anyone in the Durham region, preferably whitby who would willing to give me or sell me some used filter media or some gravel to help me seed my tank. I'm new to this hobby and I am trying to cycle my tank for the first time!
So in ready to begin my cycle, just want to make sure I have the right product before I put it in. It's old country ammonia. Bottle says it contains no phosphates or fragrances. Also for a 10 gallon tank how much should I use to get my 4ppm?
Just wondering real quick what a suitable heater for a 10 gallon tank would be, is there a preferred brand that most people go for? I seen at my local walmart they has a heater for a 10 gallon tank for 12 bucks. It's a top fin I believe. Should I buy this or should I look for something better?
So this a my new tank all set up and ready to cycle. I'm doing a fish less cycle. This is my first time cycling a tank and I'm just wondering if anyone had any quick tips for me from their experience with fish less cycles. I dont have my test kit yet but I have ordered it, but I figured I might...
