    The gravid spot at the back. Because she's a nice clear orange there will be a small black dot under anal fin that gets larger... she's harder to tell when due as they are already square. They can hold sperm in them from one mating for many months so from one splash she can have like 3...

    Did you tip that ornament upside down when you put it in the tank? To allow excess air to escape? Also if not please do and release it. Tanks often accumulate gas in substrate or decorations and it's harmful to the fish...

    I'm not sure! I adde a big chunk of java fern after I did a water change with slightly cooler water and I think that started the breeding. They stared hurrying into the fern and dancing all over the tank I think it was a mixture of both additions. :) happy times!! Good luck with yours!

    Just checked and there are dozens of eggs all over the tank!! Yay! They must have needed the java moss. That's all that changed! So happy

    According to this info I definitely have male and female. And thy were swimming belly to belly so maybe what's going on! Thank you for the information!! :)

    Which Nestor's ? That's the store I frequently visit!! The one on portage though. He's amazing Also to add. I now have one piranha in the tank (I posted a picture with two but it wasn't working out) so I kept one and have other to Nestor's :) he's quite happy well fed and very attentive Nice...

    New batch of fry and thought it fun to guess what type of fry I have. Two weeks old. Take a guess Some are yellow black and blue striped... My males are zebra and ice top zebra... Hmmm... Blues and yellows Thanks!

    They're very tough to tell but if she comes anywhere near where u can see her open mouth - they tumble the eggs constantly- you may be able to see some eggs in her mouth. That's how I knew mine was holding but went to check her a few day later and the eggs were gone :( not happy

    Mine love to attack snails. If they break shell they do eat the snails. But I've been breeding pond snails for a year now just for a tasty snack for them so maybe mine just gt used to it that way..

    Thanks. They are doing great!!! Adventuring their tank more and eating well!!! Started chasing eachother too. Just put in another batch of fry luckily they hide well :) so fun and cute!
