DO you know specifically what kind of apple snail it was?? Most apple snails are omnivores and require some protein in their diet, and are not satisfied eating just algae and wafers. Try some shrimp pellets, as well as many other different kinds of foods that one would feed an omnivorous fish...

My husband came home with a heater for my 10 gallon betta tank. Its an 100 watt and it says its ideal for aquariums up to 25 gallons. Now im worried that its TOO much. He said he got me the bigger one in case I ever decided I wanted it on my bigger tank.

Ottawa! Cool - im very near to you! We live about an hour and a half drive from there, and my husband went to Algonquin for their HVAC program! Mabey you will be able to give us a few pointers as to where to go for good fishy stuff on our next visit?? :mrgreen:

Forgot to mention, I have a 30 gallon tank now for my goldies (not the same ones that I started with) 5 inch oranda, 3 inch comet, and a 4 inch lemonhead lionhead. I also have a two veiltail bettas, one in that 1.5 gallon pink tank, and the other in a 10 gallon tank. Oh - and a pleco.
