So I just got a 2 liter container of seachem's matrix and it says on the container it should weigh 1.7 lbs, I just weighed mine and it weighs 4 lbs. has anyone purchased this before and have it actually be 1.7 lbs?

It's been running for a about 2 weeks but it was a used model so it had been run for a while by the previous owner.

I used zip ties instead and that's been working well, I have it set to the highest setting and it still produces really wet skimmate . Is there any way to change that?

So far mine has been producing a lot of wet skimmate. Good thing mine came with a drain plug.

Recently purchased a remora pro online, it's coming with a maxi-jet 1100 and wanted to get some opinion on whether the pump is good? I have a 36 gallon tank. Also if anyone already has the remora pro? Where would be a good place to get a replacement o-ring for the collector cup?

Heard good things about both octopus and eschopps, saw that seaclone for $60 and wanted something around that price range.

The one I have uses an air stone, it does ok but not without a lot of tweaking. I wanted to upgrade to something with a pump that maybe needs less tweaking.

Currently have a lees protein skimmer medium for my 36 gal. Bow tank, wanted to upgrade to an instant ocean seaclone 100. Wanted some opinions on if $60 would be a good price for a new one and if this even is a good skimmer?

My anemone was sucked up by my canister filter a couple days ago, it looks like he's really damaged but still opening up at times. I don't know if he's going to make it, should I take him out of the tank? I'm currently leaving my tank empty except for him due to an Ick outbreak. Any suggestions...

I just had the same issue with my anemone being sucked into the canister filter, did you end up trying the iodine bath? Mine looks a lot worse shape than yours did This was him before

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately he didn't make it. Still have the one strong clown though. I almost forgot I have a small crab that always hides in the rock. It would be ok to leave him too right? Just wanted to make sure.

Thanks for the info, i have my two clowns in the qt tank now. One may not make it the other seems good though. I was wondering though can I keep the anemone in my main tank while I let the tank fallow for 2 months?

Does garlic work too? I had happened to order kent marine garlic extreme because they weren't eating it should arrive tomorrow. The 2nd clownfish I have now has turned a little whiter so I think it's def ick.

I just purchased the taotronics dimmable led lights and I've gotten them hung up, was wondering what intensity would be the right level? I have a bubble tip in there now that was hiding at first I have it set to about 25% now.

I really love powder blue tangs, I've wanted one for some time now. What size tank is the smallest anyone would recommend for a small one that could grow in it for a while? I currently have a 36 gal so I know I can't have one. Just a thought for when I decide to get a larger tank

I just got the ammonia test kit in today, I won't be home until tomorrow so I'll test it then.

It's a 36 gallon, used some phosguard to remove the phosphate and had some help from my dad that has had a sw fish tank for many years.

Went to my lfs and had them test my water, I've since then added salt to make it 1.024 and all the other stats I posted before are the same
