For Sale: Pictus Catfish (Minnesota aquarists please apply!)

I just inherited a Pictus Catfish and the 20 gallon tank he came in. If you know these catfish, you will know that they need a 55 or larger tank (preferably pond). He's very cramped and I can't invest in a larger tank at this time. Offers are welcome. Buyer pays shipping/handling.

Free: Porthole Catfish in need of new home

I just recently inherited a porthole catfish and a 20 gallon tank. The previous owner allowed the catfish to grow to over 4 inches without moving it to a larger tank. I cannot afford a larger tank at this time, and the catfish is obviously cramped and swimming laps around the tank...

Python 25 foot No Spill System

I just ordered one of these from Amazon and it seems like a solid piece of equipment. The only issue I have is that I don't seem to have enough water pressure or seals that are tight enough to do the job. While attempting to use this, I caused my faucet seals to leak rather than produce enough...

    Missing Guppy??

So I just made a run to Petsmart yesterday to get two female and one male guppy. Last night when I shut the lights off all fish were accounted for and swimming aggressively. This morning one of the females went missing. Literally It's been 6 hours since last accounting for them all. Now...

How much of a PH swing can a Betta take?

I'm getting a Betta in about 2 weeks. He's been living in RO water for over a year, but my water is 7.8-8.0 and a KH of 8. I don't want to destabilize my PH in the tank, nor do I want to shock him with a PH jump of 0.8. Can the Betta handle it? How would I acclimate him?

    Ideal Betta Conditions??

I'm going to be receiving a Betta in a couple weeks, and I have a 5 gallon cycling for it right now. It's been around 7 years since I last had a Betta, and I'm really not sure what parameters are ideal anymore. I know softer water, lower PH, and warmer temps are the big ones. Also what is a...

Need advice on a planted tank

So I decided to plant a lily bulb in my 10 gallon for my tetras. The tank currently has salt treatments, but after I get the tank diluted back to 0% salinity, what else besides the plant should I add to help keep my lily healthy?

    Filter Pumps and Guppy Fry

I currently have a Tetra Whisper 2-10 internal power filter that I got in a cheap 10 gal. starter kit to raise fry. It doesn't have a real high flow rate and the intake slots look pretty narrow. Do I need to put a sponge over the intake or is it small enough?

    White Skirt Tetras Twitching/Erratic Behavior

I have two white skirts (2 inches total) that are twitching and swimming aimlessly around the tank. I notice what looks to be a metallic silver appearance on their sides. Is this an issue or just silver skin? My tank parameters are: PH: 7.7 Ammonia: 0ppm Nitrite: 0ppm Nitrate: 0ppm Temp: 73*...

    Issue with female feeder guppy

one of my guppies began looking pregnant about a week ago. I put her in the spawning tank, but after days of seemingly endless waiting, nothing happened. Then on the 4th morning I noticed her swimming around with a long white string hanging out of her. Immediately suspecting a worm, I...

    Heater suggestions for 10 gallon

I currently have a 10 gallon set up with heat lamps, but the water is still lingering low around 74 degrees. I have two mixed fruit serpa tetras and a male feeder guppy (temporary). I currently use a Tetra 2-10 heater in my other 10 gal, but I've heard mixed reviews about them. The people who...
